PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) Finals 2020: Day 2 Postponed due to Technical Issues

In a development that disappointed PUBG mobile Esports fans around the world. The Day 2 of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2020 final has been "temporarily suspended" due to technical issues, Tencent announced yesterday. 

All players were to compete in the PMGC final from Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Three players tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week, however, Tencent put all competitors in self-quarantine. Now they are competing with their hotel rooms.

PUBG Mobile Global Championship Finals 2020: Day 2 Postponed

In an official announcement via various social media platforms, PUBG Mobile executives, announced that they were unable to hold Day 2 matches due to some issues.

 They further stated that to maintain the quality of the competition, they were temporarily postponing the matches of Day 2. Officials also apologized to fans and players for the long delay and resulted in inconvenience

Officials also assured fans that they were diligently working to resolve the issues, and even went as far as promising fans that they would inform them that whenever Day 2 matches again Will be started. He also praised the patience and support of fans.

Some matches of Day 1 were delayed for the same reason. With such a short duration for online event preparation, it is not surprising to see that the competition is plagued by connectivity issues.

Due to the some technical issues of Day 1, Tencent announced yesterday that it was adding more matches to the competition. Instead of the usual six matches per day, the remaining three days will have seven matches each.

It is unclear how the format will be adjusted after the postponement of day 2 matches.

Right now, Klas Digital Athletic sits comfortably on the top of the leaderboard with 80 points and two chicken dinner. They are followed by 4 Angry Man and Natus Vincere with 75 and 68 points, respectively. World champion defenders Bigredron Red Alien sit at the bottom of the table with just 15 points from six matches.
