Krafton will Release a New PUBG Themed Battle Royal Game for Mobile and PC / Console in 2021 and 2022

The year 2020 saw a huge growth in the mobile gaming market, with the Battle Royal genre receiving the most attention. The top Battle Royale titles of 2020 were PUBG Mobile, which grew at a meteoric rate throughout the year.

As reported by Sensor Tower, PUBG Mobile generated $ 2.6 billion in revenue in 2020 alone. Since its release, the popular title has generated a total of $ 4 billion in revenue. The title's parent company, Krafton Inc., recently unveiled its plans for PUBG in 2021.  

Speaking to popular publication Bloomberg, the CEO of Krafton Kim Chang-Han revealed that Krafton will be offering an IPO from around mid-2021.  

According to a report by Eugene Investment & Securities Company, the company's IPO could be valued at 30 trillion won ($ 27.2 billion).

Krafton to Release a Battle Royal Mobile Title Based on PUBG 

Kim further revealed that the company was planning to launch a battle royal mobile gaming title later on the basis of PUBG.

According to sources, the title PUBG Mobile 2.0 is all set to become the sequel to PUBG Mobile.

 Kim also said that the company is planning another PUBG-based title for PCs and consoles, which will arrive in 2022. The company also plans to launch a horror survival game based on the PUBG universe in 2022, which will take three centuries in the future. 

Kim also revealed plans for the company's expansion into animation, films and drama. He said that the company is producing an animated show that will be distributed and uploaded to various streaming services. A web toon also works accordingly. The company also plans to eventually make films and plays. It is open to acquisitions of companies in the region.

Recently, PUBG Mobile also provided an update regarding the promo unveiling of its latest map. Karakin is rumored to have its map released during the final of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) on January 22, 2021. 

It will be interesting to see the developments of the PUBG franchise in the coming years.
